PM Modi announces Rs 20 lakh-crore package to make India self-reliant

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his address to the nation on Tuesday evening, announced a Rs 20 lakh-crore stimulus package to make India more self-reliant amid the coronavirus pandemic, as part of the ‘Aatma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan’. The allocated amount is almost 10 per cent of India's GDP. The details of the financial package will be given by the Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman, on Wednesday, the PM said. Read More

FM office releases funds for 14 states amid pandemic

The office of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman put out a tweet saying, “The government on May 11, 2020 released Rs 6,195.08 crore to 14 states as the second equated monthly installment of the Post Devolution Revenue Deficit Grant as recommended by the 15th Finance Commission. Manmohan Singh tests negative for COVID-19, discharged from AIIMS

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who had been admitted to Delhi's AIIMS late on Sunday after complaining of “uneasiness”, was discharged from the hospital on Tuesday, 12 May.
