Great Britain’s Jack Draper will make his first appearance at the Next Gen ATP Finals in Milan.

Draper’s debut match will be on Tuesday when he is set to face Dominic Stricker of Switzerland.

The start time for Draper’s match against cannot be confirmed as he is drawn to face Stricker in the evening’s final match.

However, it is expected to get underway no sooner than 19:50 (GMT).

The preceding match between Brandon Nakashima and Matteo Arnaldi kicks off the evening session in Milan at 18:30 (GMT).

Play will commence with the match between Jiri Lehecka and and Francesco Passaro in a match slated to get underway at 13:00 (GMT).

Lorenzo Musetti will then face Chinese Taipei’s Chun-Hsin Tseng in the other match on day one of the Next Gen ATP Finals in Milan

Third-seeded Brit Draper joins Musetti in a heavyweight Red Group.

The 20-year-old from Sutton started the year at No 265 in the ATP Rankings, but has since surged to a career-high No 41 after a breakout season in which he has delivered a 17-12 ATP tour-level record and also lifted four ATP Challenger Tour titles.

Draper will be the first Briton to compete in Milan in event history and he opens his campaign on Tuesday by going head-to-head with a fellow big-hitting lefty, Stricker.

He feels that his ability to stay fit in 2022 has been paramount to his rise.

“It has been the first season I have been able to play lots,” Draper told ATPTour.com.

“With my injuries in the past few years I have not been able to play as much as I would have wanted to, because of some unfortunate injuries.

“For example, I did some ligaments in my ankle. Just not getting that consistency of practising and competing.

“I think that is the biggest thing this year, just being able to stay fit and healthy and stay on court. I am ready physically and mentally to put it on court together.”

The Brit also sports a 24-4 record on the Challenger Tour in 2022 and touts the series as invaluable to players such as himself due to the experiences he has gained at that level which have been crucial in his development.

“I think the Challenger Tour is massive for players,” Draper said.

“When you come through and start winning tournaments back-to-back at that level it gives you huge confidence you can come on Tour and compete with these guys.

“Everyone on the Challenger level is hungry to do well because that is what gets you onto the Tour. The Challenger Tour has given me a real base and confidence of coming onto the Tour. It gives you a great platform.”
