Next Premier League manager to be sacked odds as Eddie Howe faces huge week
Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe may not be not among the favourites to be the next Premier League manager to lose his job - but the Magpies head coach knows his side face a potentially season-defining week.
Howe is too close to the bookmakers favourites for his own liking, with the United chief currently fifth favourite at odds of 20/1. That suggests that while there is little talk of change as things stands, the situation could change - for better or for worse - depending on results in the coming weeks.
United face Leicester City at St James' Park on Saturday before a midweek Carabao Cup quarter-final with Brentford, also on home soil. They then head to Portman Road to face Ipswich Town in their final game before Christmas, with Aston Villa coming to Tyneside on Boxing Day.

Howe still retains the support of the vast majority of United fans, and is working closely with the club's hierarchy over plans for the January transfer window. While questions have been raised this season over his side's consistency - with strong performances mixed with disapppointing displays - it has largely been the players who have born the brunt of disquiet so far.
However, he will be under no illusions that another poor show against Leicester on Saturday, and a Carabao Cup exit, will mean the pressure will start to build. On the other hand, heading into Christmas on the back fo two Premier League wins and with a place in the semi-finals of the League Cup to look ahead to, will change the complexion of the situation entirely.
Howe is significantly behind the bookies' favourites, of course, with Wolves boss Gary O'Neil now 2/7 to be the next Premier League manager to lose his job following their 2-1 defeat to West Ham on Monday night. That win has eased the pressure on Hammers' chief Julen Lopetegui a little, although he is still 9/2 second favourite.
Tottenham's mixed form as seen Ange Postecoglou ranked as third favourite on 13/2, while Southampton boss Russell Martin in priced at 8/1. There's little to suggest any other manager is seriously at risk outside of the top four, with Kieran McKenna and Sean Dyche both at 40/1.
Already this season, Manchester United and Leicester City have changed managers, with Ruben Amorim replacing Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford, and Ruud van Nistelrooy taking over from Steve Cooper in the Foxes' hotseat.
