Neymar appears to ‘like’ post calling PSG a ‘small’ club after fans protest against Brazil star

Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar appears to have hit back after being criticised by the club’s supporters.

Following the suspension of Lionel Messi after an unauthorized trip to Saudi Arabia, sections of the French club’s support gathered outside Neymar’s home to demand his departure.

The 31-year-old has won three Ligue 1 titles since leaving Barcelona for the Paris giants in 2017 but has struggled to live up to the world record fee they paid to sign him.

The protests outside of his home, however, have been publicly condemned the club.

"Paris Saint-Germain most strongly condemns the intolerable and insulting actions of a small group of individuals that took place on Wednesday," read a statement.

"Whatever the differences of opinion, nothing justifies such actions.

"The club gives its full support to its players, its staff and all those targeted by such shameful behaviour."

PSG continue to fail in their quest to win the Champions League and Neymar has often been accused of not treating the club with respect.

Despite a raft of superstar signings, the French giants have struggled against Europe’s elite and their constant failings in the game’s elite competition have become a running joke amongst rival supporters.

After being targeted by angry fans, Neymar has appeared to have hit back.

The Brazilian forward ‘liked’ an Instagram post reading: “The difference between being great and having greatness!

“Having history is not optional, position yourself as great and have the attitude of greatness is within reach! They were SMALL!”
