NFL arbitrator had power to discipline Peterson-U.S. appeals court

Aug 4 (Reuters) - A federal appeals court ruled on Thursday that the National Football League may collect a fine imposed by Commissioner Roger Goodell in a disciplinary case against Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson. The 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said an arbitrator acted within his authority in upholding the fine. Peterson was also suspended for six games after pleading no contest to a misdemeanor charge of reckless assault on his four-year-old son.
