NFL-Bengals receiver Green suffers hamstring injury

Nov 20 (Reuters) - Cincinnati's slim hopes of making the NFL playoffs faded further on Sunday after standout wide receiver A.J. Green went down with a possible season-ending right hamstring injury in their 16-12 loss to Buffalo. Green was carted off after being injured early in the game against the Bills at Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati. He is scheduled to have an MRI on Monday amid fears a tear will be revealed. Team mate Adam Jones said he felt "sick" as the extent of Green's injury became apparent. "The best receiver in the league. If he's down, how do you think it's going to affect the team?" the cornerback said. Coach Marvin Lewis shed little light on the injury: "I don't know when he can be back, but he has a hamstring injury, I can tell you that." Five-times Pro Bowler Green has 964 receiving yards this season, second only to Atlanta's Julio Jones. The Bengals were already struggling to make it to the postseason and Sunday's loss dropped them to 3-6-1 with six games remaining. (Reporting by Andrew Both in Cary, North Carolina)
