Gilmore appeared to injure his lower leg on a non-contact third-down play. He was lined up against Mack Hollins and when he went to pivot with the wide receiver, he slipped on the field.

Athletic trainers came out to see Gilmore and attended to his lower leg. He was helped to the locker room for an evaluation.
Gilmore, 30, is the team’s star defender and reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year. He missed three games earlier in the season with a knee injury and came into the Week 15 game on the injury report with a hand issue.
The Patriots’ 11-season playoffs streak was snapped with the 22-12 loss to the Dolphins.
