Oct 16 (The Sports Xchange) - Cleveland Browns safety Jordan Poyer suffered a lacerated kidney during Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans and was taken via ambulance to a Nashville-area hospital. Browns coach Hue Jackson termed the injury as pretty serious. Poyer was listed in stable condition and will spend the night at the hospital for observation. Poyer was injured when he was the recipient of a blindside block while on punt coverage during Sunday's 28-26 loss to the Tennessee Titans. Tennessee's Antonio Andrews drilled an unsuspecting Poyer in the chest and jaw area with 6:33 remaining in the first half. - - - New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. suffered a hip pointer injury late in the second quarter of Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens. Beckham returned to the game after going to the locker room for evaluation. Beckham was injured when he ran a deep post route on second down. Beckham tried to overextend for the overthrown ball, but it fell incomplete and the receiver landing awkwardly on his left hip. Beckham came off the field for one play, refusing medical attention from the trainers. He grabbed his helmet and was back on the field for one more play before finally taking himself out and going to the locker room. - - - Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was back in the lineup in the third quarter after briefly exiting the game in the first half against the Miami Dolphins due to an injury to his left knee. Roethlisberger was hurt in the second quarter after he threw an interception to Dolphins safety Reshad Jones. Roethlisberger was replaced by Landry Jones, who attempted only one pass. Roethlisberger completed 5-of-9 passes for 41 yards and the one interception before the injury. He also threw a two-point conversion pass. - - - New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski, who missed practice Friday due to illness and was listed as questionable, was active for Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Kaepernick took out a $7.5 million insurance policy prior to signing his new contract last week, according to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport. The 49ers purchased a $7.5 million insurance policy for Kaepernick and added an easily attainable $1 million incentive, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter. The 49ers bought a three-part, $500,000 insurance policy in which Kaepernick is the beneficiary, according to ESPN. If Kaepernick is hurt to the point where he can't play next season, he would collect $7.5 million tax-free -- a similar total to what he would have received under his previous contract with the injury clause. - - - Dallas Cowboys cornerback Morris Claiborne suffered a concussion when he was injured in the second quarter of Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers. Claiborne collided with linebacker Sean Lee. The crown of Lee's helmet hit Claiborne's facemask, and Claiborne looked dazed when he went to the ground.
