July 18 (The Sports Xchange) - Running back Arian Foster will join the Miami Dolphins on a one-year deal worth $1.5 million. Mike McCartney, Foster's agent congratulated the former Texans star via Twitter on Monday. Foster could earn as much as $3.5 million based on incentives. Ironically, the Dolphins' leading rusher last year, Lamar Miller, signed with the Texans in the offseason. Foster was a free agent who earned the starting job in Houston in 2010. He averaged 20 carries per game but also suffered a series of setbacks including hamstring injuries, a knee injury, groin injuries and a major back injury that required surgery. Foster, 29, has rushed for more than 1,200 yards four times in his career and led the league in rushing during his second season, running for 1,616 yards in 2010 for the Houston Texans. - - Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Nelson Agholor will not be charged after an investigation into an alleged sexual assault case, the Philadelphia District Attorney's office announced. Police began an investigation into an alleged sexual assault involving Agholor and a dancer last month at Cheerleaders Gentlemen's Club, a strip club in South Philadelphia. Agholor and temmates Fletcher Cox and Connor Barwin went there after the Eagles' final practice of their offseason minicamp. Patriots coach Bill Belichick has said he supports Ebner's pursuit of his Olympic dream and trusts him to be ready when the season starts. - - Jahvid Best said he was crushed when his NFL career as a running back with the Detroit Lions came to a premature end due to chronic head injuries. But Best could realize another dream in the 2016 Summer Olympics after being approved as a sprinter for St. Lucia. "I was devastated, but I never stop dreaming and believing in myself. My family has instilled a lot of values that has enabled me to persevere through it all," Best said. Best ran 10.16 in the 100 meters on April 2. A first-round pick out of Cal in 2010, Best spent two seasons with the Lions but despite his best efforts to return, the direct and peripheral issues stemming from multiple head injuries prevented a comeback. - - The Dallas Cowboys bolstered their thin linebacking corps by signing Justin Durant to a one-year deal. With Rolando McClain facing a 10-game suspension, the Cowboys turned to Durant, who played for Dallas in 2012 and 2013. He appeared in 16 during those two seasons and made 12 starts. He compiled 73 tackles and an interception. - - The Washington Redskins signed wide receiver Dez Stewart. Stewart played his college ball at Ohio Dominican where he recorded 1,397 all-purpose yards last season. In 40 college games, he compiled 3,193 receiving yards and 25 touchdowns.
