NFL-Packers claim running back Michael off waivers

Nov 16 (Reuters) - The Green Bay Packers claimed running back Christine Michael off waivers on Wednesday, just one day after he was cut by the Seattle Seahawks, the NFL reported on its website. Michael started seven of nine games for the Seahawks this season but did not do enough to remain on the roster with the team welcoming back depth at the running back position. Michael, 26, arrives to a Green Bay team badly in need of a runner to spark the squad. The Packers have shuffled through a group of runners this season and have lost original starter Eddie Lacy for the season with an ankle injury. Michael has rushed for 469 yards and six scores this campaign, averaging 4.0 yards per carry. (Writing by Jahmal Corner in Los Angeles; editing by Amlan Chakraborty)
