NFL player prop of the day: Again, Mark Andrews could be Lamar Jackson's top target

The Baltimore Ravens tried to upgrade the wide receivers for Lamar Jackson this past offseason.

They tried to sign practically any big-name receiver, but struck out and settled on Sammy Watkins. They drafted Rashod Bateman in the first round. In addition, they were hoping for continued progress from Marquise Brown.

And still, the best receiving threat Jackson has left standing is his tight end, Mark Andrews.

The Ravens aren't going to pass it as often as most teams, but when they do it'll most likely be going to Andrews.

Mark Andrews has been productive

The over Andrews' total of 775.5 receiving yards at BetMGM has been looking better the longer Ravens training camp goes on.

Brown is dealing with a hamstring injury that is still keeping him out. Bateman had core muscle surgery and will miss regular-season games — receivers missing time in August often is a key reason for poor rookie seasons. Miles Boykin has also been out with a hamstring injury. Watkins is still standing, but he's not exactly a picture of durability.

That leaves Andrews. Which isn't new.

Andrews has been Jackson's best target each of Jackson's two seasons as a full-time starter. He had 852 yards in 2019 and 701 last season. Last season was a bit of a disappointment, but Andrews missed two games while on the COVID-19 list and still reached 700 yards.

Andrews might not have a huge season coming, because no Ravens pass catcher is going to have a big season. Baltimore's offense is very good but it's not going to be prolific in passing yards. But Andrews has shown he is a reliable producer in that passing game, and he should hit 800 yards.

Andrews should be able to at least replicate what he has done the past two seasons for the Ravens. It's not like they have anyone else healthy to throw the ball to.
