Brad Marchand, who is well known for his antics both on and off the ice, had some fun after warmups with a young Boston Bruins fan on Thursday night.

The fan, who was in attendance to watch the Bruins take on the Washington Capitals, was recording the hometown team as it came off the ice. As Marchand nears the camera, you can see him reach out and grab the phone. He then proceeds to walk down the tunnel and leave a message for the young supporter.

“Hey, what’s up? It’s BM63,” Marchand said. “Just walking off from warmups. I don’t know whose phone this is, but I hope you have a lot of fun tonight. I know I’m going to.”

Unfortunately for Marchand, his night didn’t end up going as he had planned, as he was forced to leave the game after being hit hard into the boards by Capitals forward Garnet Hathaway. The hit warranted a two-minute penalty for interference, and left Marchand very unhappy as he slowly got up and headed to the bench.

While nothing has been announced yet other than the fact he sustained an upper-body injury, he appeared to be in plenty of pain on the bench. Head coach Bruce Cassidy did not provide much of an update after the game.

Though his team was able to pull off a 4-3 win on Thursday, it goes without saying that losing Marchand for any period of time would be devastating for the Bruins, who are finally starting to pick things up after a shaky start to the 2021-22 campaign. In 32 games this season, the 33-year-old has 20 goals and 43 points.

He also made headlines earlier this week for a viral spat with the Carolina Hurricanes and forward Vincent Trocheck. The NHL is a lot more entertaining when Marchand is suiting up for games, so here's hoping the injury is nothing serious.
