NHL-Highlights of Sunday's NHL games

Nov 14 (The Sports Xchange) - Highlights of National Hockey League games on Sunday: Blackhawks 3, Canadiens 2 Patrick Kane scored the go-ahead goal late in the second period and the Chicago Blackhawks held on to beat the Montreal Canadiens on Sunday night. Marian Hossa and Gustav Forsling also notched goals for the Blackhawks. Jonathan Toews added a pair of assists. Shea Weber and Andrei Markov each scored for the Canadiens. The loss snapped a four-game winning streak for Montreal. Canucks 5, Stars 4 (overtime) Markus Granlund's goal at 1:27 of overtime gave Vancouver a comeback victory over Dallas. Granlund fired in a wrist shot on a pass from Brandon Sutter off a face-off, enabling the Canucks to overcome a two-goal deficit after the second period and another one-goal deficit in the third. The Canucks (6-9-1) posted only their second victory in the past 12 games. They might have kept coach Willie Desjardins' job safe for a little while. Jets 3, Kings 2 (shootout) Suddenly surging Winnipeg defeated struggling Los Angeles in a shootout. Mark Scheifele scored the winning goal in the skills competition. Adam Lowry and Marko Dano scored for the Jets in regulation while Tom Gilbert and Tanner Pearson scored for the Kings. Bruins 2, Avalanche 0 Tuukka Rask stopped 21 shots for his third shutout of the season, David Krejci had a goal and an assist and Boston beat Colorado. Dominic Moore's empty-net tally with 27.2 seconds left sealed the win for Boston and gave Rask his 33rd career shutout. Semyon Varlamov had a season-high 43 saves for Colorado, which was shut out for the fourth time in the first 14 games of the season. The 44 overall shots were the most Varlamov faced this season. Rangers 3, Oilers 1 The New York Rangers completed a season sweep of the Edmonton Oilers. Michael Grabner led the way with two goals for the Rangers, who won for the seventh time in eight games. New York (12-4-0) beat Edmonton 5-3 at Madison Square Garden 10 days earlier. The Oilers, after starting out 4-1-0 in their brand new arena, fell to 4-4-0 at home and 9-6-1 overall. Wild 2, Senators 1 (overtime) Matt Dumba scored with 1:03 left in overtime to give Minnesota victory over Ottawa. Senators goalie Craig Anderson made 40 saves, including 37 through three periods.
