June 1 (The Sports Xchange) - A back injury led to the retirement of Winnipeg Jets defenseman Grant Clitsome on Wednesday. The 31-year-old Clitsome spent seven seasons in the NHL. He was drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2004 and was with the Jets for his final four seasons. The back injury sidelined him for all of the 2015-16 season. In 205 career NHL games, Clitsome produced 15 goals, 56 assists and 98 penalty minutes. Back injuries also plagued him during the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons. - - - The Nashville Predators signed free agent goaltender Jonas Gunnarsson to a one-year, entry-level contract. Gunnarsson, 24, has spent the past two seasons with the Malmo Redhawks of the Swedish Hockey League. - - - Forward Brandon Baddock signed a three-year, two-way entry-level contract with the New Jersey Devils, general manager Ray Shero announced. Baddock, 21, was selected by the Devils in the sixth round, 161st overall, of the 2014 NHL Draft. He served as captain of Edmonton (WHL) last season, scoring 22 goals with 13 assists and 143 penalty minutes in 68 games. (Editing by Andrew Both)
