June 17 (The Sports Xchange) - The Calgary Flames named Glen Gulutzan as their new head coach on Friday. Gulutzan joins the Flames after spending the past three seasons as an assistant coach with the Vancouver Canucks. He also was head coach of the Dallas Stars for two seasons, compiling a 64-57-9 mark in 2011-12 and 2012-13 but failing to make the Stanley Cup playoffs. Gulutzan replaces Bob Hartley, who was fired on May 3 after failing to make the playoffs in three of his four seasons with the Flames. - - - The Edmonton Oilers signed right winger Tyler Pitlick to a one-year contract. Pitlick, 24, appeared in 37 games with the American Hockey League's Bakersfield Condors last season, posting 21 points (seven goals, 14 assists) and four penalty minutes. - - - The Arizona Coyotes signed forward Craig Cunningham to a one-year, two-way contract.
