Nov 14 (The Sports Xchange) - The Arizona Coyotes announced Monday they have finalized plans for a new 16,000-plus seat arena in Tempe after years of looking for a new home. The Coyotes entered into an exclusive negotiation agreement with Catellus Development Corporation, master developer for the Arizona State University Athletic Facilities District, to work toward the finalization of a new arena and 58-acre commercial development project located along Tempe Town Lake. The new arena is expected to be ready for the start of the 2019-20 NHL season. - - The Winnipeg Jets placed forward Kyle Connor on injured reserve with an upper-body injury. The 19-year-old Connor was selected by the Jets in the first round (17th overall) of the 2015 NHL draft. He has recorded one goal, three assists and four penalty minutes in 16 games this season. - - The Nashville Predators recalled goaltender Marek Mazanec from Milwaukee of the American Hockey League. Mazanec, 25, has appeared in two games for the Predators this season, starting one in a losing effort. - - The Tampa Bay Lightning recalled defenseman Luke Witkowski from the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League. The 6-foot-2, 217-pound Witkowski has played in all 11 games for the Crunch this season while serving as captain, recording three assists. - - The Minnesota Wild reassigned forward Christoph Bertschy to Iowa of the American Hockey League. Bertschy, 22, has one assist in five games with Minnesota and three points (one goal, two assists) in seven games with Iowa this season. - - The New York Rangers recalled center Cristoval Nieves from the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League.
