NHL Network hires Olympic hero Lamoureux-Morando

Being an Olympic hero is paying off for United States women's hockey star Monique Lamoureux-Morando.

The 28-year-old Lamoureux-Morando was hired as an NHL Network studio analyst on Wednesday and will make her debut Friday on the network's "NHL Tonight" program.

Lamoureux-Morando scored the tying goal when Team USA defeated Canada to win the Olympic gold medal last month at the Pyeongchang Games. Her twin sister, Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson, scored the decisive goal in the shootout.

Both women joined the NHL Network in studio recently to discuss their performances in the gold medal game, and also performed some hockey analysis.

"I am very excited and thankful for the opportunity to be part of NHL Network's team of expert analysts," Lamoureux-Morando said in a statement. "I'm looking forward to sharing my perspective and passion for the game with hockey fans around the world."

Lamoureux-Morando does have broadcasting experience. She has served as a color commentator for North Dakota women's games, the university at which she and Jocelyne played college hockey.
