The second round of the 2017 NHL playoffs is set.

The Blues, Rangers and Oilers all won Saturday to clinch series wins and advance to the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. On Sunday, the Senators joined the party by defeating the Bruins 3-2 in overtime. Hours later, the Capitals moved on, too.

Washington escaped from a scary series, winning Game 6 in overtime over Toronto, in a glimpse of present vs. future. The overtime game was the 18th of the first round, a Stanley Cup playoffs record for a single round.

The Caps will face the Penguins in the next round, in what will be another classic matchup of Alexander Ovechkin vs. Sidney Crosby.
