Nicole Scherzinger tweeted her love for beau Lewis Hamilton over the weekend after he revealed that he was listening to her new music. But while he was doing well in the girlfriend department this weekend, the same couldn't be said for his relationship with racing teammate Jenson Button following Lewis' dramatic tweet about being 'unfollowed'.

The X Factor judge, who couldn’t be in Japan to watch her boyfriend come in 5th in the Grand Prix this weekend, wrote to the 27-year-old: “@LewisHamilton thank so much babe for all your support..I can't wait to watch your race tomm! Race your heart out, you are always #1 to me.”

Lewis had been tweeting earlier about Scherzinger’s new music, as he wrote: “Just at the track, finished meetings & interviews. Listening to my girl @NicoleScherzy music, stuff you haven’t heard yet & it blows my mind”.

He also added: “Can’t wait for you all to hear it. Gonna be watching Xfactor in support of @NicoleScherzy n her singers. I wish them all the best!!”

The tweets came before he embarrassingly tweeted about his McLaren teammate Jenson Button, where he accused his fellow British driver of ‘unfollowing’ him on the site, only to apologise later because Jenson had never ‘followed’ Lewis in the first place.

In a message that has been retweeted nearly 10,000 times, Lewis wrote: “Just noticed @jensonbutton unfollowed, thats a shame. After 3 years as teammates, I thought we respected one another but clearly he doesn't.

Lewis added: “Funny thing is, we are STILL teammates! All good tho, I plan on giving this team & fans all I got til I cross the finish line in brazil!!!”

Only an hour later, Lewis then had to write: “My bad, just found out Jenson never followed me. Don't blame him! Need to be on Twitter more!”

The tweets did not do Lewis any favours for his dwindling popularity, as the F1 driver quickly became a trending topic.

One user wrote: “He might know how to drive an F1 car, but blimey, Lewis Hamilton is an idiot.”

While another added: “I'm trying to understand how any @LewisHamilton fan can take him seriously anymore? Crying about @JensonButton unfollowing him? LOL.”

One fan also tweeted: “What a fool @lewishamilton is! Slagging off his teammate & then having to back track! Think before you tweet Lewis!”
