CONCORD Rangers made it back to back wins after beating Taunton Town at the Aspect Arena on Saturday.

Ben Williamson bagged the only goal of the game from the penalty spot in the 35th minute to make it six points out of six for the Beach Boys at the start of the National League South season.

In the Isthmian Premier, Billericay Town kicked off their campaign with a 2-1 win against Cray Wanderers at New Lodge but Canvey Island lost 3-1 at home to Horsham and Bowers & Pitsea lost 4-1 at Corinthian Casuals.

In the Isthmian North, Basildon United drew 1-1 at home to Heybridge Swifts, Hashtag United lost 1-0 at Bury Town, Great Wakering lost 3-0 to Lowestoft Town at Burroughs Park while Hullbridge Sports lost 4-1 at Stowmarket Town.

In the Essex Senior League, White Ensign triumphed 5-4 at Ilford in an entertaining clash but there was opening day disappointment for Southend Manor who lost 1-0 to Sawbridgeworth Town at Southchurch Park.
