North grad Zoe Stewart of Murray State announces she'll enter portal

Mar. 19—Terre Haute North High School graduate Zoe Stewart, a redshirt freshman guard at Murray State, announced Tuesday on X (formerly Twitter) that she's entering the NCAA transfer portal.

Stewart has played in 31 games for the Racers this season, all coming off the bench. She's averaged 8.9 points, 2.6 rebounds and 20.3 minutes per game for Murray State. She scored 15 points in Murray's 75-63 victory on Jan. 11 over Indiana State in Hulman Center.

The Racers, who compiled records of 20-11 overall and 12-8 in the Missouri Valley Conference, will play a Women's National Invitation Tournament game against Wednesday's UAB-Southern Mississippi winner.

In her Twitter announcement Tuesday, Stewart wrote, "First of all I want to say thank you to the coaching staff and trainers for a great two years at MSU! I also want to thank the wonderful fans for their support! With that being said, I have made the decision to enter into the transfer portal with 3 years left of eligibility."

The 5-foot-10 Stewart holds North's all-time career, season and single-game scoring records.
