Norwich beat Celtic at the death

Grant Holt netted late on to hand Norwich City a 1-0 pre-season friendly win over Celtic in Glasgow.

The Canaries captain slammed in from a few yards out to settle the contest at Parkhead in the 89th minute.

Celtic were without manager Neil Lennon, who was in Iceland to see HJK Helsinki confirm their place as the Hoops' Champions League qualifying opponents with a 9-1 aggregate win over KR Reykjavic.

The SPL giants will play the first leg of that tie at Parkhead next week, although Lennon will know his side must improve after Saturday's 4-0 defeat to Ajax was followed by this defeat against Premier League opposition.

Norwich boss Chris Hughton sent out two different teams in each half, former Rangers defender Steven Whittaker starting the match to a backdrop of jeers from the stands, only to go off injured in the 21st minute.
