It looked very much as though someone had changed the game setting to “amateur” at Carrow Road when they took on Reading – not only did they go 6-1 up, they did so entirely in the first half.
HALF-TIME: Norwich City 6-1 Reading. #ncfc

Yes, between three minutes and 41 minutes, the Canaries went for goals and nothing else – Reading managed to squeeze one in, but the Carrow Road side were particularly greedy.
Safe to say that fans in yellow and green struggled to believe what was happening.

And the reason they looked twice is that on form, you’d have thought it would have been Norwich on the receiving end.
City had won just one league game in their last nine, while Reading were on a run of three wins from three – furthermore, the Royals have promotion commitments, while Norwich waved goodbye to their play-off chances not long ago.
Norwich, who are 10th in the Championship, lead Reading, who are 4th, 6-1 at half-time.

Still Norwich 6-1 Reading at Carrow Road.. looks like they've declared

Meanwhile, this statistic demonstrated just how out of character the half was for Jaap Stam’s team. We wouldn’t have wanted to be in the dressing room at half-time.
10.7% of the 56 goals Reading have conceded in the Championship in 2016/17 were scored in the opening 41 minutes of today's game vs Norwich. pic.twitter.com/d2hIhtrTrv

Norwich added a seventh late on in the game, but by then we reckon the points were JUST about secure.

It might take a while for the result to sink in.
