Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino says he’s not losing sleep over returning to Tottenham next week but wants to focus on the League Cup game against Blackburn on Wednesday.

The Blues fell to another disappoiniting 2-0 defeat to Brentford in the league, they are now 14 points behind league leaders Tottehham ahead of their meet up in north London next week.

This will be the first time Pochettino returns there after he was sacked in 2019 but admits its the least of his worries mainly due to the fact that his team has played very well against some of the big teams.

He told reporters after the defeat against Brentford: “Next one is Wednesday here, Carabao Cup. Of course, after we are going to talk about the league. We played Liverpool, we played Arsenal and the team did really well. When you see this type of game today, like Nottingham Forest, we dominate and we cannot score goals, the block is so, so deep.

“Too many bodies inside of the box, we struggled a little bit to score but I think if you see the different games when we play teams like Arsenal or Liverpool, the team did really well.

“That is why we are not worried. We need to move on, we need to win Wednesday and then to prepare the game against Tottenham.”

Chelsea played well largely against the Bees but ultimately paid for their wastefulnes, making it one of their meeting against Tottenha one of the most highly anticipated encounter.
