Nottingham Forest absentee noted in training session ahead of West Ham showdown
Nottingham Forest fans have been quick to spot a notable absentee from today’s open training session at the City Ground.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s Reds are gearing up for Saturday’s clash at home to West Ham United (3pm kick-off). Some supporters have been able to watch from the stands as the players get put through their paces Trentside this morning.
However, it seems Morgan Gibbs-White has not been part of the training group. Fans in attendance have taken to social media to report they haven't spotted the attacker taking part in the drills with his teammates, although he was observed standing close to the tunnel area on the sidelines.
Gibbs-White has missed Forest’s last two games. He was suspended for the 1-0 win over Crystal Palace but would have been ruled out of that match anyway due to an ankle injury.
The England international was forced off with 15 minutes to go of the Reds’ 1-1 draw at Chelsea before the last international break. He seemed to pick up the injury when he had a shot charged down in the second half of the contest.
Gibbs-White then underwent scans and had to pull out of the Three Lions squad for the October international fixtures. In addition to missing the Palace fixture, he was also not involved in last Friday night’s 3-1 win over Leicester City.
“It is a day by day process so let’s see how he is,” Nuno said of Gibbs-White in his pre-match press conference ahead of taking on the Foxes. “He is better today, so let’s hope he is even better tomorrow and keeps progressing."
