Nottingham Forest are ‘following’ the progress of Saudi Arabian striker Marwan Al-Sahafi, according to reports.

AlkassTVSports claim the Reds are one of several Spanish and England clubs keeping tabs on the 20-year-old, who is currently playing in Belgium.

They cite Real Betis and Real Sociedad as also keen on a player who started out in the Al-Ittihad youth set-up before playing for their first team. However, in September both Al-Sahafi and compatriot Faisal Al Ghamdi were loaned to Beerschot for the 2024/25 season.

Al-Ittihad said at the time: “This move aligns with the programs and strategies aimed at developing young talent and supporting their growth, which will positively impact their performance and serve the future goals of both the club and Saudi sports.”

AlkassTVSports say Forest have been drawn to Al-Sahafi’s ‘remarkable brilliance’. So far he has scored four goals in six league matches including a brace in a 2-2 draw with Aston Villa’s Champions League conquerors Club Brugge last time out.

Al-Sahafi earned his first international cap in June, coming on as a second-half substitute in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying win against Pakistan in Islamabad.

Beerschot were promoted to the Belgian top flight last season and are managed by former Liverpool striker Dirk Kuyt and are owned by Abdullah bin Mosaad Al Saud.

Forest experienced frustration in their efforts to add to their striker options in the last transfer window but the impact of that has been ameliorated by the outstanding form of Chris Wood.
