Lewis O'Brien is tipped to disappoint reported suitors including Leeds United and Hull City when he makes his anticipated exit from Nottingham Forest in January.

The 26-year-old midfielder has barely figured for Forest since he joined in 2022, having played against them for Huddersfield Town in the Championship play-off final. A loan move to Blackburn Rovers had to be aborted and he has since spent time on loan at DC United, Middlesbrough and now Los Angeles FC.

Rumours have been building about his next move, and over the last couple of weeks he has been linked with a host of Championship clubs also including West Bromwich Albion and Stoke City, where his former Huddersfield manager Carlos Corberan and coach Narcis Pelach are now in charge respectively.

But The Sun on Sunday claims he will stay put in the United States and turn his loan to LA into a permanent deal.

Alan Nixon writes: "The midfielder has a fixed price of £7 million agreed with current club Nottingham Forest when his loan spell in Los Angeles ends in January. LAFC expect the move to go through, although some Championship clubs are making background inquiries.

"Leeds and Hull have been checking on his availability but O'Brien is settled in the States and enjoying his time on and off the pitch."
