Nottingham Forest sack manager Mark Warburton with club 14th in Championship

Nottingham Forest have sacked manager Mark Warburton, the Championship club have announced.

The decision comes in the aftermath of Forest’s 1-0 defeat at home to Sunderland who before the game were bottom of the table.

Forest have struggled on the whole during December, losing five of their seven games, drawing one and winning the other, results that have seen the club drop to 14^th in the Championship – only nine points ahead of the relegation zone.
