Nottingham Forest are said to have their eye on teenage defender El Hadji Malick Diouf as they look ahead to the winter transfer window.

The 19-year-old left-back signed for Slavia Prague in January but could be on the move again a matter of 12 months later. A regular for the Czech side this season, his performances have attracted plenty of attention.

According to Africa Foot, the Reds and Premier League rivals Brentford are both keen on the Senegal international. It is said they could provide “serious” competition for his signature as Spanish outfit Villarreal prepare to submit an offer when the window opens.

Slavia Prague are seemingly well aware of the youngster’s rising status. They are not prepared to let their prized asset leave for “a low cost” and are said to have placed a €15 million (£12.4m) price tag on his head.

Diouf, who also has French team Rennes keeping tabs on him, joined Slavia Prague from Norwegian outfit Tromso at the start of this year. He quickly established himself as a regular starter and already has six goals to his name from 20 league appearances.

Aston Villa loanee Alex Moreno is currently first-choice left-back for Forest. The 31-year-old has been a consistent performer for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.

The Reds have an option to make Moreno’s move permanent at the end of the season. Harry Toffolo is the other out-and-out left-back in the squad, but his contract is due to expire in the summer.

Forest also have Omar Richards on the books, but he is spending the campaign on loan at Rio Ave as he looks to build up his fitness following injury problems. Ola Aina and Neco Williams are also capable of playing at left-back, with the club eager to tie the former down to fresh terms before his deal ends in 2025.
