NPFL clubs jostle for Raphael Everton’s signature

The Chanji Boys’ striker has thumbed up the role their supporters played in midweek's win over Sai Masu Gida

Rapahel Everton is now a hot prospect and could take over at one of three Nigeria Professional Football League clubs.

The former FC IfeanyiUbah gaffer, currently in Brazil, helped the Anambra Warriors lift the 2016 Federation Cup trophy, but left the Nnewi outfit in March.

According to his representatives in Nigeria who pleaded anonymity, three top clubs in the elite league have approached them for discussions.

“Talks are at an advance stage now for Raphael Everton to sign a deal with one of the three Nigerian clubs who have shown interest in signing him,” the representative told Goal.

“I would have just mention the names of these clubs based on verbal agreement during discussions, I won’t want to mention them. These clubs currently have a coach and they have said that it won’t be nice to make the discussion public until a formal agreement is concluded.

“But to make it more direct, a club in the northern part of the country is very serious to sign Raphael. He is currently in Brazil but discussions are going on as we speak. We hope both parties will agree to terms and he will start work as soon as possible."
