O'Connor swaps Doncaster for Derby

Derby have signed Doncaster defender James O'Connor on a two-year contract for an undisclosed fee.

O'Connor, whose deal includes the option of a third year, joined Rovers from Bournemouth in 2006 and quickly became a fans' favourite at the Keepmoat Stadium.

He played a vital part in Rovers' Johnstone's Paint Trophy victory at the Millennium Stadium in 2007 and was named man of the match in the League One play-off final win over Leeds at Wembley the following year.

O'Connor was named Doncaster's player of the year after a succession of impressive performance at both right-back and centre-back in the Championship the following season.
