Grham Scott will take charge of Albion's opening home game of the season.

He referees the visit of Newcastle with Craig Pawson on VAR duty.

The Oxfordshire-based official took charge of the early-season 1-0 win at Brentford last year.

His first outing this term was in the Championship, as Luton and Birmingham drew 0-0.

Paul Tierney, whose performance in charge of Albion’s win at Manchester United was much scrutinised, has a busy weekend in prospect.

He will be VAR on Saturday as Manchester United visit Brentford.

Tierney will then referee Liverpool’s game at home to Crystal Palace on Monday.

The full team for Albion v Newcastle is follows.

Referee: Graham Scott. Assistants: Adrian Holmes, Mark Scholes. Fourth official: Gavin Ward. VAR: Craig Pawson. Assistant VAR: Darren Cann.
