'Oh my lord!' - Liverpool teenager blows away coaching staff in training after first senior call-up

Liverpool youngster Lewis Koumas left Wales players and coaching staff stunned during a recent training session.

Koumas was handed his first senior call-up to the Wales squad by manager Rob Page last month, and he is expected to be in the squads for the upcoming friendly matches against Gibraltar and Slovakia.

The call-up comes at the end of a season in which the 18-year-old was not only handed his first-team debut by Jurgen Klopp, but he also scored his first senior goal for the club during the 3-0 win over Southampton in the FA Cup.

And in a video posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, Koumas can be seen going through a shooting drill in training, and as one of his efforts flew into the net, a voice in the background could be heard shouting, "Oh my lord!"

It was just a couple of weeks ago that Page explained why he decided to name Koumas in his Wales squad. He said: "How can I ignore it when he has done what he has done for Liverpool in the first team?

"It would be foolish for me to ignore it. I have to use this little window we have to see him work and to see him train.

"It’s a no-brainer for me to expose some of the young ones now to the environment - to how we train, to how we work and get us ready for the Nations League in September and then the World Cup qualifiers."
