An old State Farm commercial may have predicted Chris Paul's NBA Finals loss to Bucks

Chris Paul was always supposed to fall to the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA Finals.

At least, that’s the case if you believe an old State Farm commercial he was in has a deeper meaning.

Paul, who is a frequent spokesman for the insurance company, appeared in a 2019 commercial where a buck completely destroys his garage. As the Phoenix Suns started losing games and eventually fell to Milwaukee in the NBA Finals on Tuesday night, fans couldn’t help but connect the commercial and this year’s Finals.

At least Paul has coverage to fix his garage, right?

Paul dropped a team-high 26 points and had five assists in Game 6 on Tuesday night, though the Suns fell 105-98 to lose the series. Giannis Antetokounmpo put up 50 points in the win for Milwaukee and earned MVP honors after leading the team to its first title in 50 years.

Paul, 36, averaged an impressive 18.8 points and 8.7 assists throughout the postseason — his highest output since he played for the Los Angeles Clippers in 2016.
