HARTLEPOOL United’s newest recruit Omar Bogle has spoken of how quickly his recent move was and his excitement for playing in front of an atmospheric home crowd.

The 29-year-old signed a two-and-a-half year contract at the club following his release from League One side Doncaster Rovers.

Bogle arrives at the Suit Direct Stadium with plenty of pedigree and EFL experience. Having impressed for Grimsby Town at National League level scoring 32 goals in 68 appearances for the Mariners, he sealed high profile moves to Wigan Athletic and Cardiff City.

He subsequently went on to have loan spells with Peterborough United, Portsmouth, Birmingham City and Dutch side Den Haag before a permanent move to Doncaster last year.

Speaking about his move to Pools, Bogle said: “It happened fast. I found out about the interest maybe last week. Then in the last two or three days, the talks have just accelerated.

“Once the opportunity to come here was there then, it was just about getting through the final details. This is where I wanted to be.

“Quite a few people have said the atmosphere here is unbelievable.

“I spoke to a few players that have played here recently. They said the atmosphere here is great as well so I’m buzzing to get out there in front of them.”

Bogle becomes the fourth signing of the January transfer window following the arrivals of Marcus Carver, Jake Hull and Issac Fletcher.

The striker could potentially make his debut in tomorrow’s long trip to Exeter City with the club awaiting EFL clearance.
