Liverpool have reportedly opened talks with Eintracht Frankfurt star Omar Marmoush. According to reports in Germany, the Egyptian has caught the eye of the Reds after a superb start to the campaign.

It has been claimed that Arne Slot's side have already opened talks and negotiations are underway to sign the 25-year-old - with Liverpool said to be at the top of his list of preferences.

Marmoush has 11 goals in 14 appearances in the German top-flight so far, with only Harry Kane keeping pace with the attacker, and already, he has a host of highlight-worthy goals including two direct free-kicks in as many games against VfL Bochum and VfB Stuttgart.

In a report from BILD, Liverpool are among the top clubs monitoring the forward, who is considering his future in Hesse. They suggest that Marmoush has dreams and a 'clear one' is playing for the Reds, with talks already getting underway ahead of possible move next summer.

A switch in January is unlikely, the German outlet adds, with Eintracht Frankfurt making a blistering start to the campaign as they sit third in the table.

There is a lot of contract uncertainty on Merseyside with Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Marmoush's international teammate, Mohamed Salah, all heading into the final six months of their current deals at Anfield. Salah has shone for Liverpool, firing increasing pressure on the club's hierarchy to make a decision, after adding eight goals and six assists to his, already, record-breaking tally.

Frankfurt are said to be expecting a fee in the region of €50million (£41m) to €60million (£50m) and in order for that, Dino Toppmöller's side must qualify for the Champions League.
