Liverpool have been increasingly linked with Eintracht Frankfurt and Egypt star Omar Marmoush. The talented attacker has been a standout performer in the Bundesliga so far this term, sparking transfer links around Europe and the Premier League.

Already, uncertainty surrounds Anfield with three key players; Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold all entering the final six months of their contracts. Salah has played internationally with Marmoush and there has been a suggestion that the 25-year-old could replace the record-breaking Reds legend, should his contract not be renewed when it expires in the summer.

Reports in Germany have strongly linked Marmoush with a Premier League move, and in particular to Arne Slot's side. The forward is the top goalscorer in the German top-flight so far, with only Harry Kane keeping pace with his exploits after 11 goals in 10 appearances, adding seven assists.

Omar Marmoush wants Premier League move

According to the Daily Star, Liverpool-linked Marmoush wants to make the switch to England's top-flight. The red-hot forward is said to be on the Reds' radar with supposed dreams on joining his international teammate on Merseyside.

There is a suggestion that he could cost north of £50million, depending on how Frankfurt perform in Germany. It has been so far so good for the Hesse club as they sit third six points off league leaders Bayern Munich but with a three-point cushion in the Champions League places.

Failed Premier League bids

It has been reported that both Fulham and Nottingham Forest expressed an interest in the 25-year-old, last summer. In particular, Nuno Espirito Santo's side who are said to have had multiple bids rejected, according to the Star.

Reports in Germany are the driving force behind the Premier League links but as it stands, only Liverpool are the team that are widely reported to hold an interest.

Mohamed Salah concerns

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has revealed his unease at comparisons with Marmoush. The Egyptian has admitted that he feels the noise around the pair doesn't help his international teammate at an important phase of his career.

"There are not many players from Egypt and the Arab countries who went to Europe and fought for success, and Marmoush is one of them," the 31-year-old said. "I see that he has great potential, he is an important player for his team and the national team, I want to stay away from him the idea of comparisons to make his life easier.

"I want people to stop comparing him to me, by saying that he will be the new Salah and will do what he did and overcome, that will put him under pressure all the time and does not help the player.

"It will put him in comparison with a player who has been very successful over the past years, but he is still starting his career. Let him live his experience and be happy with it, comparisons will not help him, let him do something of his own and in his direction away from my career."

'Bet on Marmoush move to Liverpool'

Swiss football journalist Marcel Reif says Marmoush is 'likely' to move to Liverpool this summer.

He said: "It’s no secret that he will likely move to Liverpool next summer. I would bet a few euros on that.

"As the successor to his great idol Mo Salah. Things can hardly go better for him."
