ONE Championship Adds Strawweight Title Fight to ‘Pride of Lions'
ONE: Pride of Lions is set for the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Nov. 13 and the co-main event will feature the first title defense of newly crowned 115-pound champion Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke.
The Thai will be taking on Yago Bryan in a battle between two undefeated champions. The Brazilian won the Shooto South American 115-pound belt in his most recent fight, meaning that both men are coming off title winning efforts.
Dejdamrong (5-0) is a veteran of over 300 Muay Thai fights, who only began training MMA in 2014. He quickly took ONE Championship’s 125-pound division by storm, stopping his first four opponents to earn a title shot in the strawweight division.
The Thai took on Roy Doliguez at ONE: Warrior’s Quest in May and dominated the Filipino for the best part of five rounds before winning a technical decision late in the fifth. It took less than year from making his MMA debut for Dejdamrong to become a champion.

The bad news for the Thai is that Bryan (3-0) has enjoyed as similarly sharp trajectory. The 23-year-old Brazilian fought for the first time in January of 2014. Last December, he won the Shooto South American 115-pound title in only his third fight.
Dejdamrong, who trains out of Evolve MMA in Singapore, celebrates his 38th birthday a few days before the fight and will need to be at his very best to beat a fighter who is regarded as one of Nova Uniao’s top prospects.
The event will be headlined by a rematch between 170-pound champion Ben Askren and challenger Luis Santos. The first fight ended in a hotly disputed no contest after the American appeared to poke the Brazilian in the eye.
ONE: Pride of Lions will also feature the likes of Kotetsu Boku, Kamal Shalorus, and Eddie Ng. The card will feature three Singaporeans in the shape of Amir Khan, Benedict Ang, and Angela Lee, with all the action broadcast live on Fox Sports in Asia.
