One Week Until Fight Time, Demetrious Johnson Welcomes Mighty Mouse Jr. to the World

Just a week away from putting his UFC flyweight championship on the line against John Moraga at UFC on Fox 8 in Seattle, Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson has achieved something greater than even UFC gold.

He’s become a mighty poppa for the first time.

The UFC tweeted out the news on Friday that Johnson and his wife, Destiny, welcomed the arrival of their first child, a baby boy.

In a recent conference call with the media, Johnson was asked if the pending delivery of his first child added any pressure or inspiration leading up to his fight with Moraga.

“No, no added pressure or no inspiration,” said Johnson.

“Obviously, I’m happy to be a father, but everything is the same. This is my job, my career, and I approach it as a business aspect and I’m just focused and ready to go in there and defend.”
