'The only thing' - Aston Villa supporters divided after latest NSWE financial move
Aston Villa’s owners have moved to take out a loan secured against the club's assets and commercial contracts.
As reported by Birmingham Live on Thursday, a Companies House update showed that Villa had taken out a loan from a London-based lender. Publicly available documents showed that the club had borrowed from Kroll Trustee Services, a firm that also has offices at One World Trade, New York, with the loan secured against the properties owned by the football club as well as its commercial contracts.
It remains unclear how much Villa borrowed, but such arrangements are typical in football, with clubs often using loans to manage their cash flow throughout the season. However, the decision made by the club has sparked debate in the Birmingham Live comments section.

User Wearyone expressed confusion over the fuss, stating: "I really don't get what the story is here.” Before he added, "Football clubs borrow money & move money around all the time. so what is the story?
FreddieLochhead commented: "So no news whatsoever, then."
Renta claimed: "That’s why the prices went up fans and gotta pay it."
Claretandblue added: "So, what's this amazing decision that was confirmed? The only thing I've read here is that Villa took out a loan for some reason or other (not unusual in football, as stated in the article.)"

Renta said: “You do realise if you attend games you are paying it back for them."
To which Vanquish replied: "If you attend games, it goes towards a lot of things."
Claretandblue wrote: "As an old coffin dodger, I am unfortunately unable to attend the sacred temple of Villa Park at this time of my life; except on the rarest of occasions."
While over on our Facebook page - Simon Mccullagh commented: "Nobody should be liking this this idea , now owner should be loaning money against club. This is what happens when owners can't put own money into club. FFP new version next season still don't allow owners use there own person wealth too invest. We signed bang average championship quality players in summer no player apart from Onana is either replacement or first team player or very good back up. Not buying a right back was a dangerous move and proven to be. Summer money spending wasted. And yeah I said from beginning of season."
