OPINION - Apple iPhone 15 ‘overheats due to apps’: Tech and Science Daily podcast


Apple has blamed the likes of Instagram, Uber and mobile game Asphalt 9 for an overheating issue affecting some iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max models.

On the weekend, the tech giant acknowledged the issue and said a fix is in the pipeline, but it won’t come in the next software update, iOS 17.1.

Our Tech Correspondent Simon Hunt tells Tech & Science Daily, he thinks Apple should have spent more time testing the iPhone 15 models before they were released.

Ahead of the official reveal of Google’s new Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro devices, a YouTube channel has posted an unboxing video of the unreleased devices.

PBK reviews posted two shorts on the platform on Monday, revealing the packaging and the devices themselves; a matte black Pixel 8 Pro, and a glossy green Pixel 8.

The James Webb Space Telescope has discovered pairs of planets floating through the cosmos together, apparently unconnected to any star.

Around 40 pairs of the Jupiter-sized planets have been spotted roaming in the Orion Nebula, and astronomers say they are currently unable to explain them.

The planets have been nicknamed ‘Jupiter Mass Binary Objects’, or “JuMBOs” for short.

The company called DISH has been fined $150,000 (£124,000) for not properly de-orbiting its EchoStar-7 satellite.
