Owen Beck Celtic transfer fee check as Liverpool field QPR loan call for Hoops target
Celtic have checked on Owen Beck's transfer price tag at Liverpool this summer - as QPR opened loan talks for the player.
The defender spent last season on loan at Dundee and caught the eye of Hoops scouts who made an approach to Liverpool over a loan back in January. That did not come to fruition with the Reds giving him game time in a clash with Bournemouth which ruled out his chances of joining the Scottish champions at that time.
Brendan Rodgers and his recruitment team remain admirers of the 21-year-old and as they search for a left-back to develop and compete with Greg Taylor, Beck has re-emerged on the shortlist.
Football Scotland understands Celts checked on the conditions of the player including an expected Liverpool transfer valuation as they'd prefer a permanent deal.
But they face competition from QPR who are already in talks with the Premier League giants over a loan deal.
There is also believed to be more interest in his services.
