Paul Collingwood is in line to earn $100,000 for three Twenty20 matches in Pakistan next month after making himself available for the World XI series being organised by the International Cricket Council.

Collingwood, 41, is believed to be the only English player to be earmarked for the series although the World XI is being coached by Andy Flower. The three matches are due to take place in Lahore from Sept 12-15 but final clearance will depend on the result of a security report to be conducted by the ICC next week.

The Pakistan Cricket Board has offered the players presidential style military security and have also announced plans to play series against Zimbabwe and West Indies at home later this year as they look to bring international cricket back to the country after a nine year gap.

The World XI series does not clash with Durham’s championship fixtures allowing Collingwood to make himself available if selected for the final squad.

The World XI matches have been granted full international status by the ICC.  "A security team from ICC will visit Pakistan at the end of this month to view our security plans," said Najam Sethi, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board. “Cricket West Indies and PCB are in talks that will see the Windies visiting Pakistan for a three-match T20 series in Lahore in November,” Sethi said, adding that the tour will be “subject to the safe conclusion of the World XI series.”
