Football legend Paul Gascoigne was reportedly ‘found naked’ in a communal make-up room prior to his appearance on Soccer AM over the weekend.
A female member of the Sky Sports show’s staff is said to have walked in on the troubled star as he was sitting on a chair, watching football on TV on Saturday morning.
“He was directed to an area to put some clothes on immediately,” a source told The Sun.
“They thought it was Gazza playing a joke but he seemed genuinely confused and it was an honest mistake. He clearly thought the area was just for him.
“One of the production crew had gone to get him a shirt and jeans while he got undressed from the clothes he’d arrived in.
“When a senior make-up artist came in he was in a state of undress.”
Some fans showed concerned about Gascoigne, who has long struggled with alcoholism, following his appearance on the show, which was eventually cut short.
A rep for the footballer told the Daily Mirror that his drowsiness and slurred speech were due to the effects of the sleeping tables he takes to treat his insomnia.
Gazza on Soccer AM…. looks ‘well’(ish) but damn… speaks really slowly, slurring his words all over the shop. I can see why most tv channels don’t put him on tv anymore. Just sad. Don’t do drugs folks.

Others lambasted Twitter users for mocking the footballer’s plight.
Whether Gazza was pissed on Soccer AM, whether its after effects of his past, whether its prescribed drugs or something else, he doesn't need abuse or being laughed at. He's very vulnerable. He needs an arm around him giving him support and love. #paulgascoigne #Gazza

@Paul_Gascoigne8 is a recovering alcoholic and His slurred speech on @SoccerAM is more likely down to the benzodiazpines that assist his abstinence and other causes.. rather than all you experts who think he's off the Wagon..the bloke is trying his best..Stay Strong Gazza
