Chelsea return to Premier League action after the international break with a trip to Bournemouth on Saturday evening (kick-off 8pm).

The Blues drew 1-1 at home to Crystal Palace last time out, having earned a thumping 6-2 win against Wolves before that in the league. Enzo Maresca's side will then travel to West Ham next weekend.

It's set to be a busy few weeks for Chelsea with Maresca's squad to be tested as they face cup and European fixtures. Below, football.london have taken a look at the latest media reports surrounding Chelsea...

Fullkrug verdict

Paul Merson believes Chelsea should have signed Germany international Niclas Fullkrug. The German striker joined West Ham for around £27million from Borussia Dortmund this summer

“I feel Niclas Fullkrug can make an impact in this game (Fulham vs West Ham). I’m a big fan of his and he scored for Germany during the international break," he told Sportskeeda.

"I thought Chelsea should’ve looked to sign him. It was a bit of a surprise to me when they did not make a move. The Blues don’t have a proper striker at the moment.”

Football.london's Isaac Seelochan says: Fullkrug would certainly have provided competition for Nicolas Jackson having scored 16 goals in all competitions last season. However, aged 31, he's simply not the kind of player Chelsea would consider signing.

Left-back claim

Newcastle United are said to have joined Chelsea and Tottenham in the race to sign Lecce left-back Patrick Dorgu. La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness), have claimed that the 19-year-old has caught the eye of leading Premier League clubs.

Football.london's Isaac Seelochan says: Chelsea could certainly do with a new left-back as Ben Chilwell appears to be out of favour at Stamford Bridge. Whether the teenager would be good enough to make the step up to Enzo Maresca's team remains to be seen though.
