Former Arsenal star Paul Merson believes that the Gunners need to raid Atlético Madrid this summer and sign French striker Antoine Griezmann.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Merson outlined what Arsenal need to do in order to challenge for the Premier League crown next season, and he believes that the Atlético man can make the difference.
“I'd buy Antoine Griezmann, he's world class, but finding top young centre-backs in an era when everybody wants to be Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo is tough.”

Despite a slow start to the campaign, Griezmann has managed to regain last season’s form as he has scored a total of 21 goals in all competitions for Diego Simeone’s side. His goals have helped Atlético reach the Champions League quarter-finals for a fourth consecutive season.
Merson also mentioned that his former side should look at Chelsea’s current situation to improve as the men from Stamford Bridge are set to lift their 5th Premier League crown.
“You look at the team who are going to win the league, Chelsea, they've got a world-class goalkeeper, top defenders, an unbelievable midfielder in N'Golo Kante, then Eden Hazard and Diego Costa who they can rely on for goals.”
There’s no doubt that Antoine Griezmann would be a fantastic asset to this current Arsenal squad and although he cannot change the club’s current situation overnight, it would be a great start and it’ll show the rest of the league that Arsenal mean business.
