Paul Pogba Will Cost Manchester United Closer to £200m By the Time Everything Is Added Up

Manchester United are closing in a £112m deal for Paul Pogba. That fee alone is a huge new world record, shattering the £86m Real Madrid paid for Gareth Bale in 2013, but the total outlay will actually be a lot closer to £200m when everything is added up.

On top of the £112m fee, the Daily Star believes Pogba will earn enormous wages of £275,000-per-week.

Over the course of a five-year contract that's a sum of £66m the club will pay to the player between now and 2021, and therefore a total outlay of £178m. This for an individual that United actually lost on a free transfer in 2012.

Pogba joined Juventus when his first contract at Old Trafford expired - Sir Alex Ferguson had wanted to exercise the clause adding an additional 12 months, but the then teenager saw a greater opportunity for first-team football in Turin.

The Frenchman was an instant hit in Italy, winning the Serie A title in each of his four seasons. He scored 28 league goals during that time and also collected two Coppa Italia medals as well as making an appearance in the 2015 Champions League final.
