Paul Pogba has ‘no problem’ with Jose Mourinho and is not thinking about Manchester United exit

Paul Pogba has insisted he has “no problem” with Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho and that he is not thinking at all about “transfers”.

The club’s record signing has been at odds with Mourinho this season and was dropped for the two Champions League games with Sevilla, which saw United eliminated from Europe in February and March.

Pep Guardiola claimed he was offered Paul Pogba in January this year such was his unhappiness at Old Trafford, with his France manager Didier Deschamps saying the midfielder “can’t be happy” with the situation.

The Independent revealed that Mourinho has a list of only seven “trusted” players that he is not open to selling and that Pogba is not amongst those, meaning he is not off the table for prospective clubs.

“Mourinho has made me captain,” Pogba told Canal+. “He gave me the keys, the responsibilities at a great club like Manchester United.

“For the time being, I am at Manchester United and I am only thinking about the present. We are in the FA Cup final; I have a World Cup to come.

“Transfers, all that sort of thing, are not on my mind.”

The games against Sevilla were not the only times Pogba has been dropped this season, having also not featured in the FA Cup quarter-final win over Brighton, and he has frequently been substituted at half-time.

Mourinho’s man-management of his players has been called into question from some corners of Old Trafford, and Pogba confirmed that there is never an explanation for being dropped or substituted by his manager.

“No,” he said when asked if decisions are explained to him. “It all depends on the coach - there are some who like to talk to the players.

“Mourinho, when he makes a choice, you have to accept it.”
