Pep Guardiola admits Manchester City's impending Premier League title win will be one of the best in his career because of the difficulty of securing the top-flight trophy in England.

City moved one step closer to the league title on Saturday evening after beating Tottenham 3-1 at Wembley, which came after a tough week for the champions-elect.

Ahead of the meeting with Spurs, City had lost three straight games - including to Manchester United last weekend, which prevented Guardiola's men from winning the title in front of their own fans.

But after overcoming Spurs at Wembley, City need just one more win - or United to lose to either West Brom or Bournemouth in the coming week - to win the title.

Such a likely scenario would mean Guardiola has won league titles in Spain, Germany and England but the City boss admitted this trophy will be one of the best in his career.

When asked if winning the title in England is more difficult than in Germany or Spain, Guardiola replied: "More difficult...[because of the] physicality, weather conditions, amount of games - the Premier League is so tough.

"Hopefully we will win next Sunday, it will remain in our hearts for the rest of our lives.

"[This is] one of the best, by far, but I will not say because winning in every league is important. Winning in Barcelona in my first season was a dream come true. But, of course, the moment we win it [the Premier League] it will be one of the nicest."

Second-placed United take on rock-bottom West Brom on Sunday, but Guardiola suggested it isn't a match he will be watching.

"Tomorrow I have golf with my son....football is unpredictable...it doesn't matter before this game, it was in our hands.

"It's outstanding what we have to do. Those guys are incredible. We must keep going in that way [next season]."

City, who now have three days off, will next take on Swansea City on Sunday 22 April at the Etihad Stadium.

And Guardiola admitted he feels extra satisfaction about City's title charge this season because he managed to get the team winning trophies with the brand of attractive, and possesion-based, football that he likes.

"We are close...we won it the way we want to do," he said. "The club spent a lot of money to buy these amazing players, if not, it would have been impossible.
