It has now been more than a week since Jurgen Klopp bid farewell to Liverpool.

Klopp oversaw the Reds beat Wolves in the final Premier League match of the season, which was also his last game in charge. The German will now be replaced by new head coach Arne Slot, who will officially take on the role on June 1.

Liverpool do not play another fixture until July, and none of a competitive nature until August. Between now and then, though, there is going to be plenty of talk about the Reds and what could happen in Slot's debut season at Anfield. Here, the ECHO takes a look at what has been doing the rounds online and across social media in the last 24 hours.

Pep Guardiola 'expected to leave Man City'

According to the Daily Mail, Pep Guardiola is expected to leave Manchester City at the end of next season. The 53-year-old's contract at the Etihad Stadium is due to expire in 2025 and there are no signs of an extension in the works.

The report claims that City's hierarchy are under the impression that Guardiola will leave the club when his contract expires. However, it has been stated that even though City will allow the former Barcelona boss to make his own decision, but are keen for their manager to sign an extension.

The ECHO says: Pep Guardiola has been Liverpool's main adversary across the last decade. A new era dawns with Slot as the incoming head coach, but the battle between Liverpool and City is expected to continue.

Guardiola's departure would mark a significant change for the Premier League. There is still plenty of time for a decision to be made by Guardiola and City, but the idea of the 53-year-old leaving Manchester will certainly be a change for the Premier League.

Liverpool 'interested' in Mainz forward

Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Mainz forward Brajan Gruda. According to German news outlet Sport Bild, the Reds are one of several clubs considering a move to sign the 19-year-old.

It has been claimed that Bayer Leverkusen, who are managed by Xabi Alonso, are leading the race to sign Gruda this summer. The report goes on to say that Liverpool, along with Aston Villa, Newcastle Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig are also interested in signing the forward..

The ECHO says: Liverpool are already being linked with players who could be signed this summer. Rumours are swirling that a versatile forward could be what the Reds are looking for in the transfer market.

Gruda plays on the right wing but is also capable of operating as a centre forward or in the No.10 role. The teenager scored four goals with three assists for Mainz this season in what was his first full campaign as part of the Bundesliga club's first team.
